Ever wanted to have a go at urban sketching? Join us at Wakefield Museum for a walk around the local area. Give it a go and learn from other like-minded people.

Sketching is a great way to focus on detail, to tune into reality, and to lose yourself in a flow state.

For this session we’ll have pencils and pens to borrow, or you can bring your own. We’ve plotted out a level route with different points for seating.

We’ll have a few gentle suggestions for where to start, but aside from that it’s up to you. Develop your skills and style at your own pace. Enjoy the encouragement and company of others doing the same.

This event is part of the public programme for Wakefield Museum’s latest Special Exhibition, Cynthia Kenny: A city framed.

Cynthia Kenny (1929 – 2021) captured the changing landscape of Wakefield with her paintbrush and pen. Spend some time in Cynthia’s Wakefield to admire iconic views and discover hidden gems.
