A telescope outside pointed up towards a night's sky full of stars

Stargazing at the Castle

Sat 21 February 2026, 6:30pm - 8pm

Pontefract Castle

Join West Yorkshire Astronomical Society for a magical evening of stargazing at Pontefract Castle. Learn how to look through telescopes. Discover new ways to understand the night sky.

Don't worry if it's cloudy weather - we've got a back-up plan! We will have constellation crafts and a stellarium viewer of the night's sky in the visitor centre.

There will be lots of knowledgeable people on hand to help you learn more.

This activity is aimed at families, but all are welcome.

Free, booking required as spaces are limited.
