Pantomime is a traditional and uniquely British type of theatre. It is an important part of many people’s Christmas and New Year celebrations.
In Pontefract the St Giles with St Mary’s Pantomime Society has been making people laugh for 75 years. Founded in 1949, the society has enchanted generations of Pomfretians with time-honoured stories. Their tales are told by larger-than-life characters in gorgeous costumes.
To celebrate this 75th anniversary, Pontefract Museum has joined up with the Society. We've put on a special show for all the family!
