This workshop is for home educated children aged 5+ and their families. 

In medieval and Tudor times, sheep's wool was the source of great wealth in Wakefield. Join us to explore the wool trade in Wakefield!

In this workshop, we will:

  • look at where wool came from and what it was used for

  • discover why Wakefield became such an important centre for selling and transporting wool

  • see some examples of what the wealthy wool merchants were spending their money on

  • get hands-on with with old wool-processing techniques

This session is delivered in partnership with the Community and Family Learning Team at Wakefield Council’s Adult Education Service.
