Home Education: Victorian visual toys (5+)

Fri 19 December 2025, 1:30pm - 3pm

Wakefield Museum

Workshop times:

  • Friday 19 December, 10:30am to 12pm (sold out)

  • Friday 19 December, 1:30pm to 3pm (spaces)

This workshop is for home educated children aged 5+ and their families. Join us for some festive fun. Explore the world of Victorian-era visual toys.

We will:

  • Play with some exciting and intriguing Victorian-style optical toys. These use motion to blend images into one or create the illusion of moving pictures.

  • Have a go at making some of our own Victorian-style visual toys, inspired by Christmas traditions

If you would like more information about this workshop, please email museumslearning@wakefield.gov.uk

This session is delivered in partnership with the Community and Family Learning Team at Wakefield Council’s Adult Education Service.

Part of our Home Education workshops programme at Wakefield Museum and Pontefract Castle.
