Tuesday 20 January, 1:30pm to 3pm
This workshop is for home educated children aged 5+ and their families.
The WC, the convenience, the smallest room in the house… The toilet has gone by many names over the years!
In this workshop we will:
explore the local history of the loo, from where the people of the past ‘went’ to what happened to their waste
search for evidence of old loos within the castle grounds
look at toilet-related objects from the museums collection
discover what the toilets of the past can reveal to modern day archaeologists
