Enjoy even more displays in Wakefield One! As well as the main Wakefield Museum galleries, we also pop up in the Wakefield One Atrium and Create café.

Look out for star objects and new additions to our collection. See eye-catching exhibits by local groups and artists.

Here’s what you’ll discover at the moment:

Upper Atrium, Wakefield One.

Marvel at this stunning mahogany cabinet. It was a wedding gift to Ossett-born artist, Eli Marsden Wilson (1877-1965).

It’s packed with the tools of his trade. What will you spot in the treasure trove of drawers and shelves?

Discover Wilson’s incredible story, from wartime imprisonment to Royal commissions.

Get up close to a 200-year-old fire engine!

Before modern equipment, manual engines trundled out of the local church when the fire bell rang.

Lower Atrium, Wakefield One.

Joanne Tiffany is a multidisciplinary artist based in Lupset, Wakefield.

This new work was supported by a Jason and the Wakefield Adventure micro-commission. Joanne was one of three disabled early career artists selected. They received bespoke mentoring from Wakefield-born artist Jason Wilsher-Mills.

Don’t miss artist Lisa Fascione’s work on display in the Wakefield Museum Welcome Space too.
