Organised children's groups and clubs

Nurture curious young minds at our museums and castles! We have a range of opportunities for children’s clubs of all ages in Wakefield and Pontefract.

Maybe you'll be designing and firing your own catapults. Perhaps you fancy cooking up a historic recipe? The possibilities are endless. We can create a bespoke, exciting and engaging experience for your group.

For crafty kids, there's also the option to achieve an Arts Award Discover!

Pontefract Castle tours

Pontefract Castle is an awe-inspiring place to bring your young people. Every tour is tailored to their audience. We've got a spooky dungeon and cool castle ruins.

Our tours can bring the energy, or be more laid-back and relaxed. Let us know what works for you.

Home Educators

Home educators are always welcome at our sites. We have monthly public home education workshops in term time.

We can also run private Home Education workshops for organised groups. A private session for a group of up to 25 children (plus accompanying adults) costs £80. You can choose Pontefract Castle or Wakefield Museum for your session.
