New artworks by disabled artists on display at Wakefield Museum

Friday, October 31, 2025

Two new displays by local early-career disabled artists are now on display at Wakefield One!

In partnership with Wakefield Council, acclaimed Wakefield-born artist Jason Wilsher-Mills returned home with his first major exhibition at Wakefield Exchange this summer.

As part of the Jason and the Wakefield Adventure programme, three early-career disabled artists from Wakefield received micro-commissions. They also had mentorship, and support from Jason. With thanks to funding from Arts Council England.

Over several months, Jack Land, Joanne Tiffany, and Lisa Fascione have developed imaginative new works. The pieces reflect their unique voices and creative journeys.

Joanne Tiffany: 'Stitched Connections' and 'Moulded Connections'

On display in the atrium, Wakefield One, throughout November.

Wakefield-based artist Joanne Tiffany brings powerful storytelling to textiles in her two new artworks. They are on display at Wakefield One this November.

'Stitched Connections' explores Wakefield’s rich textile heritage. It is brought to life through Joanne’s personal family history of crafting and making.
