Knottingley has a long tradition of glass-making.

The famous Bagley and Co. Ltd began in 1871 and sold its products all over the world.

They were later taken over by Jackson Brothers Glass Company. The founders of Jackson's had been apprentices at Bagley's in the late 1800s before starting their own company. They bought out Bagley's in 1962.

Just a few years later, Jackson's were also taken over by Rockware Glass Company. Rockware made this novelty aftershave bottle for Avon Cosmetics.

Glass making still takes place at the former Bagley's factory today. The site is now run by Stoelzle.
